Private music teaching in the UK is a completely unregulated industry. This means that anybody, regardless of ability, experience, qualifications and suitability to work with children, can set up a music teaching business and provide lessons to people either in their own home or at a rented venue. When you take lessons with MusicMakers you can do so safe in the knowledge that all of our teachers hold both a professional qualification in music as well as a full and current DBS check to ensure their suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults. We are all experienced and regular public performers of the instruments that we teach and members of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), the learned society for professional musicians. We follow ISM guidelines and recommendations on best practice for private music lessons and hold full public liability insurance covering all of our teaching activities and premises.
